ARMAGH CITY, BANBRIDGE & CRAIGAVON BOROUGH COUNCIL
Armagh Gaol, Conservation Management Plan
AHC was commissioned to prepare a detailed updated Conservation Management Plan, to ensure that future interventions to this important historic complex are guided by an understanding of its architectural, social and historic significance.

Strategic Heritage Plan
In 2024 ACBCBC was designated as one of 25 Heritage Places across the UK, by NLHF. AHC, in collaboration with Starling Start, supported preparation of a detailed strategic 10 year heritage plan covering all types of heritage within the borough, and informed by a detailed programme of consultation and engagement.

BRIGHT PARISH CHURCH
Heritage Statement
AHC prepared a detailed heritage assessment in support of a successful funding bid by Bright Parish Church to National Churches Trust under the Treasure Ireland grant programme. As a result, Arris was asked to deliver a talk to other applicants title ‘How to understand the heritage of your church’, which was very well received.

SAINTFIELD DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATION
NLHF Heritage Grants Application
SDA commissioned Arris to provide advice and guidance on the preparation of a grant to National Lottery Heritage Grants fund, for the establishment of a community park in Saintfield's 'Windmill Field', a Scheduled Monument with significant industrial, cultural and national heritage. To date, £136,000 has been awarded from NLHF to develop the project.

PORTAFERRY REGENERATION Heritage-Led Action Plan
A multi-faceted action plan for the coastal village of Portaferry, as part of a NLHF funded Resilient Heritage project. We identified key assets and opportunities through on-site analysis and detailed consultation with a range of stakeholders. Detailed project narrative was provided for individual projects, and the Plan was commended by client and stakeholders. Led by us in collaboration with destination development experts Louise Browne Associates.

VERNACULAR FARM GROUP WITH THATCH,
CO. ANTRIM - Heritage Statement and Level 3 Survey
Arris Heritage Consulting was commissioned to prepare a detailed Level 3 survey and Heritage Statement for this non-listed vernacular group, as a requirement of planning permission. The commission involved detailed primary research, fabric analysis, and limited decorative research was also commissioned.

Research for NDA Masterplan
Arris Heritage Consulting provided research services to conservation advisors Alastair
Coey Architects, on fifteen buildings in this historic and nationally significant area, to
inform the NDA Masterplanning process. The group pictured includes two of Dublin’s earliest buildings.

DENMARK STREET, DUBLIN
Heritage Impact Assessment
We prepared a Heritage Impact statement for conservation and repair works to the shopfront of this Protected Structure. The project involved careful assessment through desktop research and analysis, and accompanying paint research was prepared separately by Decowell Conservation.

FORMER MILL, BALLINDERRY – Design & Access Statement (mixed-use C19 traditional building)
We provided specialist services to Des Cairns Architecture, outlining the history and development of a C19 former mill, house and shop in the village of Ballinderry, preparing a Design & Access statement for refurbishment works and responding to specific queries regarding the significance of historic elements.

GRAND OPERA HOUSE, BELFAST
Heritage Statement & Statement of Significance
Statement of Significance and heritage analysis prepared to support an condition survey of Frank Matcham’s nationally significant auditorium in advance of major refurbishment, for Decowell Conservation.

PRIVATE HOUSE, CO. DOWN
Heritage Statement & Statement of Significance
We prepared a comprehensive Heritage Statement for the original historic interiors of a private C19 listed building to inform proposals for its restoration. A professional report clearly laid out significance, provided data sheets for each principal space, and recommendations for conservation and mitigation of key decorative elements.
